Make Your Mark

With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with our team today.

Do research on local issues. Bring up names locally while also bringing up names nationally. Don't let 12 appropriate the situation. Give them a hard time, that's the point. Don't let them take over the situation. This is a tactic they are trying to use and doing this will do a disservice to other local events and organizers. We have been in this struggle for years, we don't stop until we get what we want. No compromise, no permits.

Don't worry about the numbers, worry about the message and the momentum.

Have a black voice speak at the event, we don't want white saviorsUPLIFT BLACK VOICES. IF YOU ARE NOT BLACK YOU SHOULD NOT TRY TO LEAD THIS MOVEMENT, YOU SHOULD LEND A HAND, BE SUPPORTIVE, BE PRESENT. WE WILL NOT SUPPORT EVENTS NOT PUT ON BY BLACK PEOPLE. Create talking points and inform people about what is also going on locally. research local government, their stance in all of this and NEVER endorse them. They will use you more than you can use them. Keep people informed on social media before, during, and after the protest. Try to provide resources for people attending, like things for them to read, social media to follow, etc. Also try to have supplies on hand for yourself and people organizing. Like water solutions for tear gas, water to drink, first aid kits, etc.

This is one of the simplest ways to help out our cause. We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to actively get involved. This is an easy and efficient way of contributing to the great work we do at BLM IE. Get in touch with any questions about how you can Volunteer Your Time today.
